Eucalla exists to bring back a sense of authenticity to the online shopping experience that seems to have been lost along the way somewhere.
We have all gone through the same experiences using the internet throughout the course of our lives. At first things felt fresh, human and connected. Through social media, or online shopping we could access the world and everything felt closer and more connected than ever. But somewhere along the way this shifted; there was not a specific moment in time, or one single event that triggered this. There was a slow, yet drastic, transformation that occurred. The internet began to feel more commoditized, more robotic, more transactional. As if every click or scroll was not by your own doing, but by some opaque force coaxing you into doing so.
We have all seen it on social media, what was once a feed of your friends and families turned into an inescapable digital billboard. Now, the presence of people you care about is hard to find between all the advertisements or slyly disguised promoted posts. The same goes for online shopping. Confidence in buying quality products from real people has been degraded to nearly nothing. Between dropshipping, ghost stores and more recently the rise of AI, online shopping feels more like a game of what you can avoid, rather than what unique things you can find.
Online shopping feels more like a game of what you can avoid, rather than what unique things you can find.
But all hope is not lost. Every single one of us makes choices every day of what content we consume, or what products we purchase. Whilst algorithms have been cleverly and deliberately designed to push us in certain directions, it is possible to fight back. Across the world people are waking up to what is happening, and are craving a return to realness, humanness, organic things.
And this is where Eucalla comes in. We started Eucalla because we want to give this movement, this desire for real things from real people, an avenue. There are many online shopping platforms but most, if not all, have gone through their life cycle and reached the commoditized, AI-infested, mass-produced stage, or started there from the very beginning. Eucalla is something different. Every single store and item is guaranteed to be real, and from a real person. And every single store and item will go through human vetting to ensure authenticity. This is not the most efficient, or cost effective, approach, but that is exactly what we want. In order to restore authenticity and realness to the online shopping experience, this sacrifice is necessary.
We hope that you will join us and take part in this movement. Supporting real people, purchasing quality items, and knowing that your choices have an impact on the community around you. Whether you are setting up your store to sell handmade jewelry you craft with your family, or purchasing a beautiful painting from a local artist, we promise that Eucalla will always stay committed to its principles. Real quality stuff, from real quality people.
Welcome to Eucalla.
